HOW TO DEAL

DEAL THE HOLE CARDS

• Burn Card (top card of deck) place on table face-down.
• Deal 1st Hole Card (face down) to the Small Blind and continue clockwise, ending with you.
• Deal 2nd Hole Card (face down) in same order as above.

DEAL THE COMMUNITY CARDS

“The Flop”

• Burn Card (top card of deck) place on table face-down
• Peel Top 3 Cards off Deck and place face-up on middle of table

“The Turn”

• Burn Card (top card of deck) place on table face-down
• Peel Top Card off Deck and place face-up to the right of “The Flop” cards.

“The River”

• Burn Card (top card of deck) place on table face-down
• Peel Top Card off Deck and place face-up to the right of the four flop + turn cards

DEALER RESPONSIBILTIES – DURING THE HAND

Make all buttons and blinds are correct:

• Dealer, Big Blind, and Small Blind Buttons, have moved clockwise and are in position
• Check that the blinds are posted or remind players to post blinds.
• Dealer Button (in front of dealer)
• Small Blind $ is in play (to dealers’ left)
• Big Blind $ is in play (to small blinds’ left)

Deal the Cards (Hole, Flop, Turn, River)
Check Accuracy of All Bets, All Rounds
Control the Pot (and Side Pots)
Gather cards when mucked by players
Keep the game moving
Push the Pot to the Winner
Take Charge --
The Dealer is “The Boss” and is the ONLY person who can:

• demand blinds be posted
• handle the chips in the pot
• distribute the payouts
• make rulings (out of turn action, string bets, etiquette/rules violation’s)

DEALER RESPONSIBILTIES – AFTER THE HAND

Push Dealer Button to Next Dealer (Player to Your Left)

Gather all cards (remaining deck, hole cards, burn cards, community cards)

Shuffle the cards and hand to new dealer on your left

BUY IN AMOUNTS FOR TEXAS HOLDEM - “LIMIT” POKER

There is NO minimum, or maximum, cash buy-in amount required for “cash games” like Limit Hold’em. However, the typical “Buy In” for Limit Hold’em cash games is: 20 to 30 Times the “Big Blind.”

Examples:
$2-$4 Limit Hold’em Game Buy-In:

• Big Blind $2 x 20 Big Blinds = $40
• Big Blind $2 x 30 Big Blinds = $60
• Big Blind $2 x 50 Big Blinds = $100

Under the Gun (UTG):
The player to the left of the big blind; acts first preflop

Early Position (EP):
Players acting right after UTG

Middle Position (MP):
Players in the middle of the action

Late Position (LP):
The cutoff seat and the dealer button

Blinds:
Small blind and big blind act last preflop

BETTING POSITIONS & ACTION ORDER

Position dictates who acts first (bets or folds).
The order flips between the preflop round and all subsequent rounds.

PRE-FLOP

Action starts with Under the Gun (UTG) (left of the BB) and moves clockwise. The SB acts second-to-last, and the BB acts completely last.

POST-FLOP ORDER (FLOP, TURN, RIVER)

Action starts with the Small Blind (SB) (or the first active player left of the button) and moves clockwise.
The Button acts dead last.

BE SMART...

...never bet more than you can comfortably lose, and remember - if you fold your hand pre-flop, you can't lose penny!

Table Stakes:
You can only bet the chips you have on the table at the start of the hand. You cannot add money mid-hand.

Max Raises:
Three raises per round.

Showdown:
Remaining players show their cards.
